If you're seeking a dynamic and collaborative environment where personal growth is encouraged and development is supported, we invite you to join our team. *Job Summary* The Experienced Welder / Fitter is responsible for fitting, welding, and assembling custom steel components to drawing requirements in a fabrication shop environment. Working as part of a production team, this role follows established welding procedures, safe material-handling practices, and requires strong attention to detail to deliver high-quality weldments on time. This position reports directly to the Welding Supervisor. The successful candidate will have 5 + years? experience in a fast-paced custom steel fabrication setting. *Responsibilities* * Perform fitting, MIG (GMAW) and MCAW (metal-core) welding, tacking, and grinding of custom steel parts and assemblies based on detailed drawings and instructions to meet dimensional and quality requirements. * Read and interpret fabrication drawings (metric and imperial) and weld symbols to lay out and assemble parts correctly. * Safely operate overhead cranes and basic rigging to move, position, and stage materials and fabricated weldments in the shop. * Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow OHSA and company safety procedures, including proper use of PPE. * Accurately clock in and out of work orders to track time and productivity in accordance with shop procedures. * Work collaboratively with the production team, reporting to the Welding Supervisor, and communicate issues early to support quality and on-time delivery. *Qualifications* * Minimum 5 years of welding experience in a custom steel fabrication environment. * Proficiency in GMAW, FCAW, and MCAW welding is required; experience with GTAW (TIG), including aluminum welding, is an asset. * Valid CWB welding certification is an asset. * Ability to read and interpret fabrication blueprints and weld symbols (metric and imperial). * Basic math skills sufficient for measuring, layout, and confirming dimensions. * Experience operating overhead cranes and using basic rigging, or willingness to be trained. * Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail in fit-up and weld quality, and effective communication in a team environment. * Willingness to work overtime when required to meet production deadlines. * Commitment to working safely and following established procedures.
