The City of Moose Jaw seeks an experienced, strategic Utilities Supervisor to lead our solid waste management team. Reporting to the Manager of Public Works, you will provide leadership and technical oversight for the City's Solid Waste, Waste Diversion, and Material Management programs. Operating at an advanced administrative level, you will translate high-level strategic plans into operational excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold top-tier customer service. Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership: Plan, co-ordinate, and supervise daily Environmental Service crew activities safely and efficiently. Asset Management: Manage complex infrastructure (landfill and residential collection) and participate in capital project design reviews. Team Performance: Recruit, onboard, coach, and manage personnel based on core values. Compliance & Safety: Ensure full compliance with the OH&S Act, environmental frameworks, and the City's Permit-to-Operate Waste Disposal Grounds. Financial & PR: Assist with operational/capital budgets. Handling public inquiries tactfully and efficiently. Qualifications: Completion of a post-secondary program in a technical discipline (engineering/environmental technology); must be able to register with SASTT with a minimum A.Sc.T. designation, plus supervisory experience; OR 5+ years in Waste Management/Environmental operations with 2 years in a recent municipal leadership role; OR equivalent combination of education/experience. MOLO (Manager of Landfill Operations) certification or ability to obtain within a defined time frame. Strong proficiency in Microsoft-based systems, municipal budgeting, and contract administration.
