*Job Summary* Medicine Hat! We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. Established in 2021, The Whiskey District is Medicine Hats steak and spirit lounge. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in food preparation and kitchen operations, ensuring that high standards of food quality and safety are maintained. This position requires a strong commitment to teamwork, leadership, and a passion for the food industry. Wage supplemented with a competitive gratuity program. *Duties* * Assist in the preparation of food items according to established recipes and standards. * Support senior kitchen staff in cooking and plating dishes. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace. * Ensure proper food handling practices are followed to maintain food safety. * Participate in inventory management and stock rotation. * Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations. * Supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed. * Assist with menu planning and development when required. *Experience* * Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred. * Background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations is essential. * Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership capabilities within a team setting. * Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the hospitality industry. * Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. * A passion for culinary arts and a desire to grow within the food industry.
