*Ocean Freight coordinator* We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Ocean Import Coordinator to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full cycle of ocean import shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations, timely delivery, and excellent customer service. The candidate should be Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident. *Key responsibilities:* * Coordinate end-to-end ocean import shipments from origin to destination * Communicate daily with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams * Track and trace shipments to ensure timely arrival and resolve delays or discrepancies * Prepare and process import documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and arrival notices * Ensure all documentation complies with CBSA and other requirements * Work closely with customs brokers to ensure timely customs clearance and release of goods * Maintain accurate data in internal systems and update shipment statuses regularly * Monitor demurrage, detention, and storage charges; take proactive steps to avoid or minimize costs * Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries and keeping clients updated * Collaborate with warehouse, trucking, and delivery teams to coordinate final delivery * Assist in resolving discrepancies, damage claims, or invoice issues * Stay updated on industry regulations, tariffs, and compliance changes affecting imports *Key requirements:* * Knowledge of freight operation, documentation, products, operations, security, and equipment. * Understanding of freight tariffs, rates, and freight quotes received from carriers and other logistics provided * Excellent communication skills both verbal and written * Ability to work in team atmosphere that is a fast-paced multi-tasking environment *Essential Criteria:* * 2-3+ years of experience in ocean import operations, freight forwarding, or logistics * Cargo-wise experience is a definite asset * Superior knowledge of the logistics industry and the key players within the industry nationally and globally * Good interpersonal skills with the ability to encourage a team-based approach * A logical mind with the capacity to overcome difficult problems creatively * Good organizational skills together with the ability to prioritize functions * Recognize how to maximize profits * Proficiency in logistics systems and MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills * Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment *Job Type:* Full-time. *About ITN Logistics:* ITN/SCAN takes your business personally.
