FUTURE GNB EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITYFGNB 332 - Employment CounsellorInternship Placement for Fall 2026 TermApplication Deadline: July 19, 2026Location: 200 Champlain St. Suite 320, Dieppe, NBNumber of placements: 1Salary: $18 /hourHours per week: Flexible (Between 10-25, depending on student's schedule)Placement Duration: September - December 2026Department: Working NB, PETLPlacement Description: The Employment Counsellor Student will support Working NB in delivering career and training services to New Brunswickers seeking employment or educational opportunities.Key responsibilities may include:Assisting clients in exploring values, interests, and skills to identify suitable career pathwaysSupporting clients in identifying appropriate training and education optionsShadowing employment counsellors during meetings with new and existing clientsAssisting with documentation and data entryProviding front-line support in a client-facing environmentThis placement offers hands-on experience in career development, employment counselling, and public service delivery. Students will receive coaching and mentorship from management and front-line staff while gaining practical exposure to client assessment, career planning, and employment support services. This role offers an opportunity for skills development with career-focused trainings, self-development workshops, and personalized mentorship.Need to have:Language requirement: English and French (Bilingual)Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Psychology, Sociology, Education, Family Studies, Business, Human Resource Management, Criminology, Social Work, or another Social Sciences fieldProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteStrong client service orientationEffective interactive communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentStrong planning and organizational skillsNice to have:Counselling or coaching experience (school, volunteer, or work)Experience in customer service or public-facing rolesInterest in career development, workforce services, or community supportProviding a safe workplace for all.
