Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dangerous. Outdoors. Noisy. Work setting: Animal shelter. Tasks: Bathe and shampoo animals. Document animal behaviour. Monitor animal behaviour. Prepare food and feed animals. Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stall and enclosures. Keep records of animals treated. Assist with inoculation and treatment of animals. Clean animal ears. Clip animal nails. Type of pets groomed: All breeds of dogs. Cats. Area of work experience: Animal control officer. Animal specialization: Domestic animals/pets (cats, kittens, puppies, dogs, etc.). Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Fast-paced environment. Standing for extended periods.
