Our client, a growing and innovative intelligent building technology company, is seeking a seasoned and hands-on <strong>Controller / Head of Finance – PART TIME (Contract – approximately 18 months with a strong possibility of extension).</strong> This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance leader who enjoys working in entrepreneurial environments and wants to make <strong>a meaningful impact on a growing business while maintaining a flexible schedule.</strong><br>This role offers the opportunity to provide strategic financial leadership, oversee high-level accounting functions, evaluate and enhance financial systems, and support the organization's next phase of growth. Reporting directly to ownership, you will play a key role in strengthening financial processes, improving reporting capabilities, and ensuring the company is well-positioned for future expansion.<br><strong>What our client has to offer:</strong><ul>	<li>Competitive hourly compensation 	<li>PART-TIME workload with flexible scheduling (approximately 1–3 days per week onsite in Oakville) 	<li>Long-term contract opportunity with potential for extension 	<li>Direct partnership with ownership and executive leadership 	<li>Opportunity to lead financial strategy and process improvements 	<li>Growing, entrepreneurial, and collaborative work environment </ul><strong>Responsibilities:</strong><ul>	<li>Oversee the company's accounting and finance function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting 	<li>Manage month-end and year-end close processes 	<li>Review and oversee financial statements, reporting packages, and key performance metrics 	<li>Provide strategic financial guidance to ownership and leadership 	<li>Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities 	<li>Evaluate existing financial systems and recommend enhancements or upgrades 	<li>Lead potential accounting system/ERP assessment and implementation initiatives 	<li>Establish and strengthen financial controls, policies, and reporting processes 	<li>Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, including a full-time Bookkeeper responsible for day-to-day accounting operations </ul><strong>Qualifications:</strong><ul>	<li><strong>CPA designation highly preferred </strong>	<li>Proven <strong>experience in a Controller, Head of Finance, Director of Finance, </strong>or similar senior finance leadership role 	<li>Comfortable with the <strong>Part time Contract nature</strong> of the role. 	<li>Experience evaluating, upgrading, or implementing accounting and ERP systems 	<li>Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills </ul>This posting is for an open vacancy currently available within our client's organization.
