Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Office. Troubleshooting/diagnostic. Tasks: Maintain equipment. Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements. Service equipment. Test power equipment and systems . Assist in design, development and testing. Assist in preparing estimates, schedules, specifications and reports. Write specifications. Assist in inspecting, testing and adjusting electronic components. Calibrate electronic equipment and instruments. Assist in building and testing prototypes to specifications. Complete work orders, test and maintenance reports. Refer to schematic drawings or product manuals to repair parts. Read blueprints and electrical schematics. Diagnose and locate equipment faults, and adjust, replace or repair telecommunications equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certified Engineering Technologist (CET). Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office. Equipment and machinery experience: Soldering equipment. Equipment, eystems and controls experience: Electronic testing equipment and systems.
