Job details
The Grader operator is responsible for operating the grader in a safe and effective manner in order to ensure roadways are properly shaped. The grader operator works with the crew to create smooth, even road surfaces during road building and maintenance. They use the machines blade to cut, spread, and level aggregate materials. The operator reads grade stakes, follows engineers plans, and works closely with site supervisors to achieve precise road elevations and slopes. Qualifications Valid Class 5 Drivers License Experience operating a grader for road construction, specifically in the following areas:o Spreading aggregate material on roads from windrowso Side slope shapingo Rough and finish bladingo Having used slope control is an asset Ability to work independently Familiar with OHS regulations Good Communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable working under pressure in some situations Physically capable of demanding labour work Duties & Responsibilities Blade various roadways in a safe and effective manner Perform daily safety and maintenance inspections Implement safe work practices and procedures according to OHS and internal company policy Participating in company safety program Willing to work 12-16 hour days Willing to travel and overnight for 10-day shifts Take direction from Project Manager Perform manual labour as needed Compensation $50/day for meals Accommodation provided After 3 monthso $350.00 steel toed boot reimbursement every 24 monthso Canada Life Medical & Dental Benefitso RRSP Group Matchingo Safety Recognition Program (up to $80/month)- Location Saskatoon, SK
