Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
  • Survey building locations and levels
  • Supervise other workers
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems

Supervision

  • 3-4 people

Credentials

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses 

  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) training
  • First Aid Certificate
