Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Sheet metal shop. Tasks: Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products. Document work completed. Investigate problems to fix or make minor repair. Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Remove metal pieces from furnace when colour or metal indicates proper forging temperature. Select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist. Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods.
