*Baker* *Salary: *$19-$22 *Job Type:F*ull Time *Qualifications: *Baking: 1 year (Required) Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (Preferred) \*Must be able to lift 20kg bags of flour/sugar *Job Description* Butter and Co. bakery located in Nored Plaza in North Nanaimo. We are looking for someone with a good attitude, work ethic and the drive for perfection! Our hours of operation are 7:30 am-5 pm 7 days a week. The candidate must be available for early morning, weekends and holidays *Duties* * General Prep: Mixing doughs, proofing and baking bread and pastries, feeding starters, chopping/peeling/cutting fruits and vegetables for various jams and fillings * Laminating and shaping croissants * Making and decorating various tarts, puffs, and cookies * Maintain the quality and freshness of ingredients * Maintain a clean and tidy workspace, including equipment, personal tools and utensils; understand and abide by Health & Safety standards and Food Safe requirements * Monitor and log shortages as required * Cleaning down work area and writing an accurate prep list for the next day * Must be available to work various shifts, including as early as 3 am * Must be available weekends and holidays Why we should be your choice of employer: * We provide clear recipes and instructions for all of our goodies * We provide all the tools for you to execute your job effectively, including a well-maintained kitchen * Staff meal while at work, and staff discount when visiting us on your time off * Expect regular paycheques, paid overtime, holiday pay and BOH tip outs * We are an inclusive work environment and an equal opportunity employer * We take training seriously and love internal promotions Job Types: Full-time Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour Benefits: * Paid time off * Store discount Work Location: In person- Location Nanaimo, BC
