Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Hog and pig farming. Hog management. Livestock. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Boar semen collection. Monitoring animal health. Perform livestock feeding. Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration. Weaning. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain livestock performance records. Maintain work records and logs. Perform general farm duties. Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops. Area of specialization: Swine. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks.
