Healing lodges are environments designed specifically for Indigenous offenders. They offer culturally appropriate services and programs to offenders in a way that incorporates Indigenous values, traditions and beliefs.Correctional Officers II (CX-02) - Healing Lodges play a vital role as the first line of contact for offenders. They handle both security tasks and case management. They incorporate a healing component into the offenders' case management in collaboration with the Elder/Spiritual Advisors, and other members of the case management team. They have an understanding of Indigenous life, assist offenders to follow their healing path/journey, listen and respond to offenders' concerns, document information and events, participate in case conferences for decision-making and prepare a variety of reports and recommendations.Healing Lodges operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
