<p>ABOUT US: Startec Refrigeration Service is focused on solving your field refrigeration and HVAC challenges and is one of the most trusted and respected names in commercial, industrial, and recreational refrigeration, HVAC system installation, and maintenance.  We service cold storage, meat packing, food processing, and recreational ice facilities throughout Western Canada.</p><p>BEHAVIORAL ASSESSMENT: All applicants must complete the Traits and Behaviors Assessment below when submitting their application.</p><p>Please proceed using the link: https://app.traits.com/survey/a56e7669-2ba6-4573-83cd-800831da5362 POSITION OVERVIEW: Startec Refrigeration Service is currently recruiting for a Industrial Refrigeration Mechanic (Journeyperson)   to work at our Edmonton, AB location (10029 56 Ave NW , Edmonton, AB) .  The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial refrigeration systems used in various industries such as food processing, cold storage, and manufacturing.</p><p>Reporting to the Lead Refrigeration Mechanic, the Journeyperson will utilize their expertise in industrial refrigeration systems to ensure the safe, efficient operation of equipment and maintaining optimal temperature control.</p><p>Journeyperson rates are determined based on the journeyperson tenure.</p><p>The range for is $51.89 to $63.17 per hour  (depending on supplemental rates/premiums).</p><p>KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI): ON THE TOOLS (Weighting 70%) Installation & Assembly Install and assembly industrial refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, piping, valves, and controls, according to engineering specifications and diagrams.</p><p>Ensure proper alignment and connection of components and perform leak test to ensure system integrity.</p><p>Install electrical wiring, control panels, and instrumentation enable system operation.</p><p>Maintenance & Repairs Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on industrial refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal performance an minimize downtime.</p><p>Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system issues, and implement appropriate repairs or adjustments.</p><p>Replace faulty or worn-out components such as motors, valves, fans, and thermostats.</p><p>Conduct regular maintenance tasks including cleaning coils, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting refrigerant levels and pressures.</p><p>COMPLIANCE  (Weighting 15%) System Operations & Monitoring Monitor refrigeration systems and controls to ensure proper operation, temperature control, and energy efficiency.</p><p>Adjust settings, pressures, and temperatures as needed to maintain optimal system performance and meet required specifications.</p><p>Monitor and record system performance data, such as temperatures, pressures and energy consumption.</p><p>Perform system start-ups, shutdowns, and defrost cycles according to established procedures.</p><p>Health & Safety Compliance Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.</p><p>Follow proper handling, storage, and disposal procedures for refrigerants and hazardous materials.</p><p>Comply with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards in all aspects of refrigeration system installation, maintenance, and repair.</p><p>CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGEMENT (Weighting 15%) Customer Service & Communication Communicate with customers, supervisors, and colleagues to understand project requirements, provide updates, and address any concerns or questions.</p><p>Interact professionally and courteously with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.</p><p>Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers regarding refrigeration system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.</p><p>Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs- Location Edmonton, AB
