Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Dry pea and bean farming. Oilseed (except soybean) farming. Other grain farming. Wheat farming. Grain, oil and forage crop. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Consider water saturation, light and temperature when planning for crop growth and development. Cultivate on vertical farming system. Cut agricultural crops. Develop specific plans to prioritize. Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots. Follow sustainable soy farming practices such as crop rotation, reduced-till or no-till, water and nutrient management, precision farming technology and cover crops. Harvest seedlings. Level earth to fine grade specifications. Organize tasks to accomplish the work. Oversee the activities of clearing the fields. Oversee the process of hoeing crops. Seed cutting. Shear and shape trees and plants with knife. Soil fertility programs. Tie and secure plants. Train seed cutting techniques to farm labourers . Weeding. Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures. Maintain financial and production records. Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain quality control and production records. Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations. Maintain work records and logs. Hire and train staff. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Perform general farm duties. Supervision: 5-10 people.
