Applicants are required to be a Nurse Practitioner with current experience in acute care, emergency, and inpatient settings.? To qualify applicants must demonstrate a strong knowledge of the inpatient Nurse Practitioner role and inpatient/hospital setting. ? Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner (Family/All Ages) with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required.? A minimum of 2-3 years clinical nursing experience.? Current BCLS Certification is required.? Completion of Western Health Cardiac Care course (or equivalent) is preferred, however, can be completed within the first year.? Ability to interpret Arterial blood gases and EKGs.? Experience in critical care and acute emergency settings considered an asset.? Certification in ACLS is preferred, however, can be completed within the first year.? Possess strong abilities in the areas of collaboration, clinical reasoning, professional development, interpersonal effectiveness, conflict management and teamwork.? Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships is essential.? Demonstrate progressive clinical leadership skills and strong knowledge of inpatient clinical? setting and current models of care.? Possess strong communication, problem solving, decision-making, and teaching skills.? Demonstrated ability to function autonomously in an advanced practice role.? Support and participate in research to improve practice and client outcomes.? Demonstrated skills in computer and database management skills including knowledge of eforms, patient order sets, and current medical directives.?
