<p>Title of Job: Cleaner (Bargaining Unit Position) Vacancies:  3 Date:  July 7, 2026 Closing Date:  July 21, 2026 Location: Orillia, ON - Back to Home Orillia Compensation: $23.80/hr Work Type: Onsite Job ID: 10553092 Existing or New Position: Existing Who We Are: LOFT Community Services is a unique and dynamic charitable organization that supports people living with complicated issues such as mental and physical health challenges, substance use challenges, poverty and homelessness.</p><p>Serving approximately 19,534 annually and providing 1,839 units of supportive housing last year, LOFT is one of Ontario’s largest mental health service providers of its kind.</p><p>LOFT is also recognized as a Nonprofit Employer of Choice™ Award (NEOC) recipient.</p><p>Program Summary: Back to Home Orillia provides specialized support to vulnerable and at-risk older adults with complex physical health challenges, mental health challenges, addictions or cognitive impairment LOFT responds to each resident’s needs, so they can live safely and in good health in the community as they age.</p><p>Through our care, we aim to postpone for as long as possible, or eliminate, any need for institutional care.</p><p>Our programs offers 24/7 care through our specialized Personal Support Worker (PSW) team, providing such services as assistance with personal care, essential housekeeping, laundry services, and escorts to appointments.</p><p>LOFT PSWs receive enhanced training related to mental health, addictions, psychosocial rehabilitation, responsive behaviours, dementia and the impact of the social determinants of health, thus giving them specialized skills required to provide the highest quality of care to the populations we serve.  Job Summary: The Cleaner is responsible, under the direction of their supervisor, to ensure the cleanliness of designated client rooms and LOFT offices of the facility.</p><p>The responsibilities include washing windows, cleaning washrooms, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, washing, scrubbing, waxing and polishing floors, in accordance with the maintenance standards, as well as other cleaning duties as delegated by their supervisor.</p><p>The Cleaner also works in liaison with their supervisor in regard to controlling cleaning supplies inventory.</p><p>In case of emergency, the Cleaner is responsible to assist the Personal Support staff to handle the situations under his/her direction, as applicable to the shift requirements.</p><p>What You Will Do: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of staff and common areas throughout the facility.</p><p>Perform routine cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, polishing, and washing floors, walls, and windows etc.</p><p>Clean and sanitize washrooms and ensure supplies are fully stocked.</p><p>Collect and dispose of garbage and waste from offices and common areas.</p><p>Assist residents with bedroom cleaning and related support as required.</p><p>Complete assigned cleaning and maintenance tasks in accordance with established schedules and facility standards.</p><p>Support staff during emergencies, including assisting with evacuations and contacting emergency services when required.</p><p>Follow all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations.</p><p>Perform other related duties as assigned by Program Manager and/or designated.</p><p>What You Bring: Related cleaning experience and/or training Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and usage Knowledge of health and safety standards Ability to work with limited supervision.</p><p>Able to work shifts, including nights and weekends Working knowledge of English, both spoken and written.</p><p>Work Environment: Since the workplace involves working in resident/tenant member’s own homes, staff may be subjected to secondhand smoke while performing their job duties.</p><p>What We Offer: E-learning program available all year round Professional development budget available t- Location Orillia, ON
