This position is meant to help bridge the gap in transition from psychological services within the eating disorder continuum of care, and offers primarily individual intervention for transition and outpatient clients, with an assessment and group intervention component to the role as needed and appropriate. Psychodiagnostic assessments involve formulating and communicating psychiatric diagnosis using DSM-5-TR and are used to inform triaging of referrals and directing treatment planning. This would include assessment and interventions, both individual and group. This position functions autonomously. The Clinical Psychologist will act as resource to provide clinical expertise, consultation and leadership to other clinicians across programs that offer service to the eating disorders population. As needed. the Clinical Psychologist III participates in group therapy and facilitates meal support sessions through the HOPE program, including eating prepared meals with patients as part of therapeutic interventions to model healthy eating behaviors and support recovery. The position involves direct supervision of provisionally registered psychologists, psychology residents, and psychology students working within the specialty area of eating disorders. This position reports administratively to the Program Manager, HOPE program. The applicant will maintain accountability to the Professional Practice Consultant for Psychology for professional integrity issues.Job DemandsBy applying for this job, you acknowledge an understanding that regular requirements and demands of this job include (but are not limited to):Occasionally, there is lifting or physical strength required, less than 10 lbs for files, boxes, or equipment.Regularly sits; occasionally works in awkward/cramped positions and stands to facilitate or teach groups.Uses fine finger/precision work when on the computer and visual concentration is required when in sessions with patients (i.e. reviewing patient charts/notes, tests and for documenting work, and when reading or researching information).Visual concentration is required to interpret patient observations and integrate into patient evaluation.Auditory concentration is constantly required in sessions with patients to listen attentively, to be alert and to obtain and interpret information correctly.A higher-than-normal level of attentiveness is required when assessing high risk patients.Job QualificationsGraduation with an approved/recognized Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology is required.Current and continuing registration or provisional registration with Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board is required.Graduate course work and supervised experience in psychological assessment and therapy with individuals, families, and groups with a specific focus on individuals with eating disorders is required.Previous experience supervising Doctoral level residents is preferred.Exhibited strong communication, program development and evaluation skills.Possessed strong leadership and supervisory skills that are focused on engaging others and developing coalitions.Demonstrated ability to provide strong and comprehensive clinical support, training and mentorship to supervisees.Possessed strong analytical, critical reasoning, collaboration, problem solving, decision-making and o- Location St. John's, NL
