Education: College/CEGEP. Work setting: Hospital or clinical pharmacy. Tasks: Advise customers on indications, contraindications, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage. Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or to other health care professionals. Advise customers on selection and use of non-prescription medication. Check prescriptions for proper dosage. Maintain medication profiles of customers including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada Certification. Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Attention to detail. Work under pressure.
