Work setting: Drilling and well service contractor. Remote location. Various locations. Tasks: Align and manipulate sections of pipe or drill stem from a platform on the rig derrick. Operate and maintain drilling rig diesel motors, transmissions and other mechanical equipment. Assist in setting up, taking down and transporting drilling and service rigs. Manipulate sections of pipes or drill stems at rig floor during drilling and during removal and replacement of pipes, drill stems and drill bits. Handle, sort and move drill pipes, tools, cement and other materials. Clean up rig areas. Assist in setting up, taking down and transporting drilling and service rigs and service equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Standard First Aid Certificate. Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate. Rig Worker Fall Protection. Confined Space Entry Training. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Field work location experience: Territories. Prairies region. British Columbia. Alberta. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Drug test. Medical exam. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel. Willing to travel overnight. Willing to travel for extended periods. Willing to travel regularly. Travel expenses not paid by employer. Public transportation is not available. Responsibilities
