*Job Overview* We are seeking skilled and dedicated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The position offers an opportunity to work within a reputable establishment committed to culinary excellence and professional growth. *Duties* * Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and presentation excellence * Assist in menu planning, development, and implementation for various dining services * Supervise kitchen staff during shifts, providing guidance on food preparation, safety, and efficiency * Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste to ensure optimal kitchen operations * Oversee food safety compliance and maintain cleanliness standards in accordance with health regulations * Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow during peak hours * Lead kitchen operations during assigned shifts, including managing time effectively and delegating tasks appropriately * Train new team members on food handling, safety procedures, and culinary techniques * Support dietary department requirements by preparing specialized menus or dishes as needed * Assist in kitchen management tasks such as shift management, inventory management, and maintaining operational standards *Experience* * Proven experience in fine dining establishments or similar high-end culinary environments * Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively * Knowledge of inventory management, food safety protocols, and kitchen operations * Experience with menu planning, food service management, and culinary innovation * Familiarity with food industry standards including dietary restrictions, catering services, and restaurant experience * Skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management are essential * Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour Benefits: * Discounted or free food Experience: * Cooking: 3 years (required) * Food service management: 1 year (preferred) Work Location: In person- Location Lindsay, ON
