New graduates are welcome to apply. *About the Role* The Registered Dental Hygienist will provide preventive and periodontal hygiene care while supporting patient education, recall effectiveness, treatment awareness, and overall patient retention. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building long-term relationships with patients and working as part of a collaborative dental team. The successful candidate will be confident in creating a positive patient experience, explaining oral health findings clearly, supporting clinical recommendations, and helping patients feel comfortable and cared for throughout their visit. *Key Responsibilities* * Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care, including scaling, root planing, polishing, fluoride treatment, oral hygiene instruction, and periodontal maintenance. * Complete periodontal assessments, probing, charting, oral cancer screening, and medical history reviews. * Take prescribed radiographs in accordance with office protocols. * Educate patients on oral health, periodontal health, home care, prevention, and recommended hygiene intervals. * Support the dentist through strong clinical communication and clear patient handoffs. * Help patients understand the value of recommended treatment and ongoing preventive care. * Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical notes. * Follow infection prevention and control protocols, sterilization standards, and office SOPs. * Support a consistent and welcoming patient experience from seating to dismissal. * Contribute to recall, retention, and patient reactivation efforts. * Work collaboratively with dentists, dental assistants, front desk, and management. * Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. *What We Are Looking For* * Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with the CDHO. * Current CPR certification. * Strong clinical skills and attention to detail. * Excellent communication and patient education skills. * Warm, professional, and patient-centred chairside manner. * Positive attitude and strong teamwork. * Reliable, punctual, organized, and accountable. * Comfortable working in a busy dental practice. * Open to feedback, training, and continuous learning. * Ability to follow systems, protocols, and documentation standards. *Assets* * Experience in a general dental practice. * Experience with periodontal therapy and maintenance. * Familiarity with digital radiography, intraoral cameras, or iTero scanning. * Knowledge or interest in Invisalign. * Comfort discussing treatment needs and supporting patient understanding. * Experience with dental practice management software. * Evening or Saturday availability. *Why Join ScarboroSmiles?* * Competitive pay: $48.00?$55.00 per hour. * Supportive and collaborative team environment. * Established patient base. * Opportunity to grow with a structured and evolving practice. * Focus on high-quality patient care, not rushed dentistry. * On-site parking. * Team culture that values professionalism, learning, and accountability. *How to Apply* If you are a caring, motivated, and professional Dental Hygienist looking for a rewarding opportunity with a growing dental team, we would love to hear from you.
