Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Odours. Tasks: Clean work area. Organize and maintain inventory. Read and interpret blueprints/sketches/specifications. Check proper thickness of plating using micrometers, callipers or other devices. Clean and maintain equipment. Operate and control: electroplating equipment to coat metal, hot-dip metal plating equipment to galvanize metal and/or spray equipment to build up worn or damaged parts. Prepare and mix metallizing solutions according to formulas or specifications. Tend automatic metal coating machines which convey objects through a series of cleaning, rinsing and plating solutions. Tend or operate equipment to prepare items for application of protective or decorative coatings. Tend or operate equipment to spray or coat. Type of product: Construction materials or coatings. General metal products. Surface preparation methods: Abrasive disc wheel. Removing old coatings manually. Sandblasters. Type of paints or coatings: Metallized coatings. Oil-based or emulsion paints. Application methods: Hand-held spray guns. Equipment and machinery experience: Metal spray equipment. Type of industry experience: Automobile and Trucking industry. Component manufacturing industry.
