*Who We Are* The Church of the Redeemer is an Anglican parish in the heart of downtown Toronto, committed to worship, community, service and social justice. One of our signature ministries is The Common Table, a drop-in program dedicated to fostering dignity, equity and community for individuals experiencing homelessness or marginalization. *Description of the Role* Reporting to the Incumbent Steven Mackison and Board Chairs, the Part-Time Financial Administrator plays a key role in supporting the financial health of the parish and its ministries. They are responsible for ensuring the accurate record-keeping of all financial transactions and preparing regulatory compliant reports for the Church of the Redeemer, Diocese of Toronto, external auditors and the Canada Revenue Agency. Collectively, The Church of the Redeemer (the parish) and its ministries (including The Common Table) have an annual operating budget of approximately $1.5 million. To excel in this role, you will bring a strong foundation in accounting and financial management along with the discretion and professionalism required to handle sensitive financial information in a faith-based community setting. You will work collaboratively with church staff, the Incumbent and external partners (including the parish's accounting firm and the Anglican Pension Office). You must be as comfortable preparing detailed financial reports for the Finance Committee as you are explaining budget realities in plain language to volunteer leaders and congregants. The role requires the ability to manage a steady rhythm of ongoing bookkeeping and reporting responsibilities while ramping up significantly between November and March for year-end and audit season. The Financial Administrator position can be in-person or hybrid; however, you will be expected to be available for onsite meetings as required. *Tasks and areas of responsibility*: In collaboration with church staff responsible for financial functions, ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records are maintained, including: * Accounts payable and receivable, bank account transactions and monthly reconciliations and general ledger entries. * Weekly offerings and monthly Pre-Authorized Remittance contributions, designated gifts and donations of securities. * Monitor all staff-related financial functions (payroll, EI, CPP, WSIB, income tax, benefits and pension deductions, T-4 slip issuance). Ensure employer and employee payments for health and pension benefits are submitted to the Anglican Pension Office. * Monitor and manage restricted and investment funds according to donor intent and accounting standards, using Servant Keeper software. * Provide monthly financial reports regarding The Common Table program and parish income and expenses to support the Ministry, Executive Committee, Board of Management, Finance Committee and Stewardship Committee as well as quarterly and annual reports for the Church and Diocese. * From time to time, as required, attend evening parish meetings via Zoom. * Reconcile and close out the 2026 financial books and ensure year-end tax receipts are prepared and distributed to all donors. * In collaboration with the Incumbent and Church leadership, prepare a 2027 Budget. * Working with an outside accounting firm appointed by the church, prepare the annual audited financial statements. * Support the Wardens in their presentation of audited financial statements and 2027 Budget to congregants at the annual Vestry/Annual General Meeting offering analysis recommendations in collaboration with the Finance Committee (February 28, 2027). * Oversee preparation of the church?s annual reporting for 2026, including the Parochial Return to the Diocese and the Registered Charity Information Return (T3010). *Qualifications REQUIRED* * Accounting diploma or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or equivalent demonstrated work experience * Demonstrated experience in nonprofit or small- Location Toronto, ON
