*Job Summary* The Intermediate Mechanical Designer is responsible for managing projects including site meetings, reviews and the design of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire protection for small to medium size Residential and commercial Projects. *Responsibilities* * Create permit drawings with AutoCAD * Coordinate work with other disciplines including Architectural and Structural * Create Permit drawings with AutoCAD for Residential and Commercial Projects e.g. Restaurant, Retail shops, Pharmacy, Salons , offices. * Prepare drawings in accordance with ABC, NFPA, ASHRAE, and/or other relevant Codes and Standards * Identify and coordinate required site services * Co-ordinate with municipalities as required * Maintain design files in an organized and up-to-date fashion in accordance with company Project Management Standards * Perform heat gain/loss calculations * Mechanical system selection (i.e. Roof top unit, Furnace. heat pump, MUA units, Exhaust fans) * Perform site audits to confirm existing conditions *Requirements* * Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. * At least 2-3 years of experience in the Engineering Consulting industry. * Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCad, Revit) and experience with schematics. * Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to apply engineering principles effectively. * Well versed in ABC, NFPA, ASHRAE and other relevant Codes and Standards * Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in design work. * Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously. * Strong communication skills to convey complex technical information clearly.
