Known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and operational excellence, the company continues to grow while maintaining a strong focus on food safety, employee development, and customer satisfaction.<br/></p><p >Reporting to the <b>Operations Manager</b>, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader to oversee production operations within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.<br/></p><p ><b>Position Overview</b><br/></p><p >As the <b>Operations Supervisor</b>, you will lead a team of approximately <b>70 employees</b>, overseeing the daily operations of a pork processing facility. This includes the receiving of live hogs, harvesting, evisceration, cutting, deboning, packaging, sanitation, and production activities.<br/></p><p >You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-performing operation while ensuring compliance with all food safety and quality standards.<br/></p><p ><b>Key Responsibilities</b><br/></p><ul ><li >Lead daily production operations, supervising salaried and hourly employees to achieve production targets.<br/></li><li >Foster a positive work environment through coaching, mentoring, training, and employee development.<br/></li><li >Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and reduce operational waste.<br/></li><li >Monitor production metrics and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.<br/></li><li >Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with workplace safety standards and proactively addressing hazards.<br/></li><li >Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, SOPs, and all food safety and quality requirements.<br/></li><li >Lead corrective actions related to quality, production, and operational performance.<br/></li><li >Oversee sanitation and maintenance activities.<br/></li><li >Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including OEE, 5S, TPM, DDS, and continuous improvement programs.<br/></li><li >Communicate production performance, action plans, and operational updates to leadership and production teams.<br/></li><li >Work closely with Production Planning, Materials Management, Finance, Human Resources, and Quality Assurance to achieve operational goals.<br/></li><li >Step into the Operations/Production Manager role when required.<br/></li><li >Troubleshoot production issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.<br/></li></ul><p ><b>Daily Responsibilities</b><br/></p><ul ><li >Review staffing requirements and assign team members appropriately.<br/></li><li >Communicate daily production schedules and priorities.<br/></li><li >Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal departments as needed.<br/></li><li >Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to support operations and ensure compliance.<br/></li><li >Review production efficiencies and make real-time operational decisions.<br/></li><li >Complete production, FSQA, HACCP, and operational reports.<br/></li><li >Ensure shift handovers are completed effectively.<br/></li></ul><div><br/></div></span><br/><span id="spanreq"><h3>Requirements</h3><div><p ><b>Qualifications</b><br/></p><ul ><li >Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Management, or a related discipline preferred.<br/></li><li >5?7 years of leadership experience in food manufacturing or food production.<br/></li><li >Experience within a large-scale, high-speed manufacturing environment.<br/></li><li >Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, BRC, and USDA/CFIA food safety regulations.<br/></li><li >Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, OEE, and continuous improvement initiatives.<br/></li><li >Excellent leadership- Location Arthur, ON
