Job details
Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems. Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors. Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing. Estimate costs and materials. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License (Class 3 or D). Plumber Red Seal Certificate. Gas Fitter Red Seal Certificate. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Judgement. Experience: 1 to less than 7 months. Employment terms options: Overtime available. Other benefits: Free parking available.
