We are a smaller Canadian-owned and operated telecommunications subcontractor since 2019, and we will be hiring some full-time quality talents over the next few days. This position is that of a satellite installation technician in and around southern Ontario. On average, technicians should be able to complete 4 - 6 installs a day. This particular posting is for covering the area in and around Tillsonburg, right down to the lake. This is an in-house (not subcontractor) position that involves using your own vehicle, tools and ladders. Driving reimbursement details below. Positions of the same that use company vehicles will be added in the future as they become available. Candidates will be expected to visit Brantford once or twice weekly, as it is where you will fill your vehicle up with stock for the installation and service calls. Field training will be provided to candidates who have no experience as an installer. *Tasks include but are not limited to: * * Reporting to staging area when required for meetings or re-stocking of vehicle * Stock work vehicle as needed and keep it clean and organized * Make contact with customers prior to starting work to confirm appointments * Work with home owners to explain best location for satellite and wiring path to suit the customer while letting them know what isn't permitted or can't be done. Always give the customer options, the goal is to complete the job, not give reasons to prevent it. * Clean up job sites, ensure all paperwork/documentaion is completed and send all paperwork and required pictures to office. *Candidates are expected to:* * Speak, read and write English fluently * Have Canadian citizenship, or be legally permitted to work in Canada * Have valid G class unrestricted drivers license * Provide a recent drivers abstract AND basic criminal record and judicial matters check (CRJMC) prior to first day * Be experienced and comfortable working on a ladder at heights up to 25ft. (valid Working at Heights required). * Supply your own basic hand tools and hammer drill and know how to use them (a list of tools required will be provided) * Work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions * Report to supervisor with any questions or concerns * Educate customers on the service and app and confidently answer any questions they have * Take all required pictures and complete necessary paperwork * Be able and comfortable working alone * Be respectful, kind and professional in both manner and appearance, with respect to others property and privacy *Employee Vehicle Details:* * Have a reliable and clean vehicle (pickup truck or van with ladder rack) with no company or business logos on it that is capable of carrying a few days to a week worth of stock, as well as a 26ft ladder * Valid vehicle insurance in the employees name Previous satellite or cable installer experience is considered a valuable asset. Standard probationary period of 3 months for all candidates, regardless of experience. *Job Type:* * Permanent * Full-Time *Pay:* * Weekly pay VIA direct deposit (first pay held back 3 weeks, then weekly pay begins) * Paid per job completed * 4% Vacation pay paid out on every pay * Daily driving compensation @ .40/km after 20km *Schedule:* * 8-10 hour shifts (7-8am start) * Day shift * Some weekends and holidays on a voluntary basis If interested, please send your resume for review.
