Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.The Radio Communications Branch is responsible for the provision of Radio Communications and other advanced technological services for all government departments and agencies. The Branch provides contract management of the New Brunswick Trunked Mobile Radio (NBTMR) system, the province's P25 Digital Public Safety Grade Radio System. The NBTMR provides mission critical services to various Provincial, Federal, and Municipal stakeholders.What you will doReporting to the Assistant Director/Manager of Corporate Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: managing all aspects of the provincial radio fleet, including inventory control, asset tracking, configuration management, programming documentation, and maintenance coordination;developing, maintaining, and auditing radio programming and configuration records to ensure compliance with established standards and interoperability requirements;building and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders across federal, provincial, municipal, and external organizations;forecasting equipment requirements, managing inventory levels, and coordinating the distribution of radio assets to support operational requirements;analyzing network and subscriber performance data, preparing reports, and providing recommendations related to fleet development, network enhancements, and budget planning;collaborating with departmental radio coordinators and service providers to maintain accurate fleet information and ensure the security, accountability, and effective management of radio assets;responding to hardware and software service requests and coordinating solutions with clients and service providers;meeting with clients to assess current asset status, identify future operational requirements and risks, and support planning activities;maintaining client portfolios, records, and reports, ensuring information is accurate, organized, and current;supporting team objectives and contributing to operational projects and initiatives as required.Work environment:Office location: Fredericton Area.Standard hours of work: Monday ?
