We specialize in brick, block, and stone installation as well as complex historical restoration and stone panel work.</p><p>Our company culture is built on the core values of Safety, Innovation, Integrity, Effectiveness, Teamwork, and Fun, and we're looking for individuals who bring those values to work every day.</p><p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p><p>We are currently seeking 18 motivated individuals to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.</p><p>This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse, rewarding projects that include commercial buildings, restoration sites, residential features, and masonry repairs.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities include: </strong></p><ul><li>Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required.</li><li>Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools.</li><li>Prepare and lay bricks, concrete block, glass block and various types of stone for new build and repair/restoration projects.</li><li>Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing to walls or other surfaces</li><li>Remove and replace existing masonry work for repairs.</li><li>Restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures.</li><li>Working at heights on scaffolding, swing stages or hydro mobiles.</li><li>General site clean up.</li><li>Handling weight up to 35kg (75lbs).</li><li>Other activities as directed.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills, Abilities and Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>1 to 2 years experience as Bricklayer.</li><li>Have a Provincial Trade Certification or Red Seal Certification or be able to demonstrate an equivalent skill level. Varying levels of skill to be assessed on the job.</li><li>Ability to work with others in a team environment.</li><li>Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Communication skills in English.</li><li>The following certifications are an asset: Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS), First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Protection.</li></ul><p><strong>Position Specifics:</strong></p><ul><li>This position is available to start immediately.</li><li>This is a union position, and wages and benefits are per the Collective Agreement. Union dues are required.</li><li>Pursuant to the Collective Agreement, the initial 120 days are considered a probationary period with a wage range between $39.47-$43.85/hour, plus 10% Holiday and Vacation pay. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, wage will be increased to $43.85/hour pursuant to the Collective Agreement.</li><li>Benefits include: Health Care Plan, Vision Care Benefits, Paramedical Services Coverage, Dental Plan, Pension Plan, Life Insurance, Disability Benefit as per the Collective Agreement.</li><li>Reliable transportation is an asset, as some jobsites may have limited access to public transportation.</li><li>You must supply your own tools, steel-toed safety boots and hard hat.
