The Ministry of Community Safety is seeking dedicated individuals for a Permanent Full-Time Correctional Officer opportunity at Besnard Lake Correctional Camp in La Ronge. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to safer communities by supporting offender rehabilitation, promoting positive change, and maintaining a safe and secure correctional environment. Required knowledge and skills include an understanding of the Canadian criminal justice system, human behaviour, risk assessment, and the ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies, and procedures. Candidates must possess a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence (or equivalent), valid First Aid and CPR/AED certification, and education in social sciences, law enforcement, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A satisfactory medical evaluation is required. Responsibilities include supervising offenders, maintaining facility security, supporting rehabilitation and reintegration efforts, facilitating offender programming, assessing risk, responding to incidents, and working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to promote positive outcomes and public safety.
