Many of our supervisors and operations staff began their journey as security guards and advanced through our in?house promotion system. *Position Overview* We are hiring a *full?time Security Guard in Edmonton* who is alert, responsible, and proactive. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe environment through active patrols, surveillance, and strong access?control practices. Your presence and professionalism will help deter risks, prevent loss, and support a secure atmosphere for clients, staff, and visitors. *Key Responsibilities* * Monitor premises using CCTV and other surveillance systems to identify suspicious activity * Control access by verifying employee, visitor, contractor, and vendor credentials * Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry * Respond quickly and appropriately to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations * Implement loss?prevention strategies through observation and accurate reporting * Maintain detailed daily logs, incident reports, and activity records * Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and emergency responders when required * Uphold Defron?s standards of professionalism, customer service, and safety at all times *Qualifications* * Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related fields is an asset * Strong understanding of CCTV systems, surveillance tools, and security protocols * Excellent observational skills with the ability to identify risks and irregularities * Ability to remain calm, confident, and composed during high?pressure situations * Clear and professional communication skills for reporting and client interaction * Physically capable of standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods * Valid Alberta Security Licence (or eligibility to obtain one) *Why Join Defron Security Services?* * *Competitive pay starting at $18?$21/hour* * *Benefits available* after probation * *Stable full?time hours* * *Career advancement opportunities* through our in?house promotion system * Opportunities to grow into *Supervisor*, *Site Lead*, or *Operations Team* roles Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour Work Location: In person
