About Our OpportunityThe Financial Service Delivery Branch/Operational Accounting has an opening that will provide the opportunity to apply your excellent financial expertise and client service in a setting that offers challenges and values collaborative teamwork and innovative thinking. Under the general direction of the Coordinator, Operational Accounting, the Accounting Clerk will be responsible for timely and accurate processing of financial documents.Primary Accountabilities-Process invoices, cheque requisitions, journal entries, travel expenses, etc.-Ensure all financial transactions are in adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and comply with government policies and procedures.-Verify documentation, signing authorities, tax codes and order numbersQualifications and ExperienceTo be considered for this opportunity, you have at least 4 years related experience. This includes: Experience working with data entry, validation, and quality control processes.Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Nova Scotia government financial policies and procedures, including accounting, tangible capital assets, travel, petty cash and procurement policies.
