Construction Labourer *Riverstone Excavation & Underground Ltd.* is looking for a reliable, hardworking *Construction Labourer* to join our growing excavation and civil construction crew. We work throughout *Simcoe County, Muskoka, Orillia, Barrie and surrounding areas* on excavation, underground utilities, site servicing, road work, demolition, drainage and earthworks. We are looking for someone who is dependable, physically fit, willing to work hard and interested in learning and growing within the excavation and civil construction industry. Responsibilities * Assist excavator operators, pipe layers and other crew members * Assist with water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer installation * Assist with trenching, pipe installation, bedding and backfilling * Shovelling, raking and hand grading * Assist with catch basins, manholes, culverts and drainage systems * Perform *traffic control and flagging* around active construction sites * Set up and maintain traffic signs, cones, barricades and work zones * Spot excavators, loaders, skid steers and dump trucks * Assist with road excavation and restoration * Install geotextile, clear stone and granular materials * Assist with demolition, lot clearing and site preparation * Load and unload tools, materials and equipment * Keep job sites clean, organized and safe * Clean excavator and equipment tracks * Assist with daily equipment inspections * Grease and clean equipment and help with basic maintenance * Help secure and organize tools and materials at the end of each day * Perform other general construction duties as required What We're Looking For * Previous construction, excavation, landscaping or civil experience is an asset * Experience around heavy equipment is preferred * Underground utility or pipe experience is an asset * Traffic control / Book 7 experience is an asset * Physically capable of performing demanding outdoor work * Comfortable working around excavators, loaders, skid steers and dump trucks * Able to work safely around open excavations and active construction sites * *Reliable transportation to and from work is required* * Valid driver's licence preferred * Must be dependable and show up on time ready to work * Willing to work outdoors in different weather conditions * Able to follow instructions and work as part of a crew * Positive attitude and willingness to learn * Safety-conscious and takes pride in their work What We Offer * Full-time employment * Competitive pay based on experience * Opportunity for overtime * Variety of excavation and civil construction projects * Hands-on experience in underground utility and excavation work * Opportunity to learn water, sewer and storm installation * Opportunity to advance into *Pipe Layer, Equipment Operator, Lead Hand or Foreman positions* * Work around modern excavation equipment and GPS-guided machinery * Opportunity to grow with a company expanding into larger civil and municipal infrastructure projects We are looking for someone who wants to *work hard, learn the trade, take responsibility and become a valuable member of our crew.* If you're dependable, motivated and interested in building a career in excavation and civil construction, we'd like to hear from you.
