<p>About Us Aplin Martin is a full-service Civil Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Environmental and Survey company, celebrating over 57 years of success in making sustainable communities a reality across Canada.</p><p>Over the five decades, the Aplin Martin family has grown into a multi-disciplinary firm of around 300 talented and dedicated professionals delivering innovative and practical design solutions, approval strategies, and project management services to our clients in BC, AB, and ON.</p><p>We are dedicated to nurturing our employees’ growth and development and providing a supportive environment with a strong emphasis on mentorship and professional development that ensures a rewarding career within our organization.</p><p>Position Overview: The Design Engineer will have direct involvement with the detailed design process to ensure completion of the design objectives, approvals and all necessary documents required.</p><p>The Design Engineer will assume responsibilities from the conceptual level through to detailed issuance for construction drawings and be involved in the tendering and construction administration of the project.</p><p>Duties and Responsibilities: Preparation of detailed engineering drawings (primarily using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related applications) for a variety of land development and capital works projects.</p><p>Provide input to Project Managers for the preparation of fee proposals.</p><p>Prepare and review design calculations in accordance with current standards.</p><p>Interpretation of topographic information required for design.</p><p>Site and lot grading and earthworks balancing/optimization.</p><p>Preparation of quantity take-offs and cost estimates.</p><p>Preparation of reports, letters, memos and other project correspondence.</p><p>Answer technical enquiries during the construction of the project.</p><p>Provide some direction and mentoring to junior members of the design team.</p><p>Compilation of as-built records for design and record drawings.</p><p>Preparation of contract documents for project tendering and execution of the project design drawings, and; Contract administration during the construction phase.</p><p>Skills and Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of local experience in design of land development or capital works projects.</p><p>Registered as an EIT or P.Eng.</p><p>within the province of work.</p><p>Valid Driver’s License.</p><p>Ability to work simultaneously on several different projects.</p><p>Consistently able to produce accurate, high-quality work.</p><p>Comfortable carrying out design work with limited supervision.</p><p>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</p><p>Knowledgeable of technical design issues, constructability, cost, and design approvals.</p><p>Knowledgeable of tender preparation with construction administration experience preferred.</p><p>Compensation The salary range for this position is $86,000 to $93,000 per year, commensurate with experience, skillsets, and qualifications.</li><li>  Benefits & Rewards Comprehensive health benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, an employee assistance program, life insurance, AD&D and LTD Education assistance program Monthly health & fitness allowance Group RRSP program & employer matching Flexible working arrangements Equal opportunities for career growth and advancement within the organization Fun social, team building events and professional development activities A Culture that supports learning, collaboration, and work-life balance Aplin Martin is committed to fostering a supportive, diverse, and inclusive work environment where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work.</p><p>We actively encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and identities.</p><p>If you have any questions about accessibility or require any assistance during the hiring process, please reach out at  careers@aplinmartin.com- Location Surrey, BC
