Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Construction. Repair. Renovation. Residential. Tasks: Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units. Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing. Build patios, garden walls and other decorative installations. Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools. Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Bricklayer Trade Certification. Bricklayer Red Seal Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Apprenticeship training: Pre-apprenticeship training. Level one apprenticeship training. Level two apprenticeship training. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Safety equipment/gear.
