This is a bargaining unit position.* *Job Summary:* CultureLink?s Newcomer Youth Success program facilitates the settlement and successful integration of newcomer children and youth through four types of services: needs assessment and creation of a settlement plan; information and orientation group events to provide information that is relevant, accurate and timely and to help clients make informed decisions about their settlement in Canada; community connections activities to help clients develop the skills needed for successful integration and transition to school; and employment supports. CultureLink offers targeted programming for girls/women and the 2SLGBTQI+ community and educates all clients (and staff) on Indigenous culture, customs, and history through consultation and partnerships with Indigenous-led organizations. The Youth Worker plans, implements and reports on program activities. In-person work at one or more sites and itinerant service delivery at partner sites is essential. Maintaining positive relationships with partners and CultureLink colleagues is essential to program success. All agency staff are also expected to support each other and to collaborate on agency-wide initiatives. *Duties:* · Complete registration of clients and verify their data and particulars to uphold data integrity and validation · Provide individual needs assessment and appropriate referrals during client intake process · Assist clients to sort out options and develop tailored incremental settlement plans of action while providing necessary support and assistance to advance client settlement goals · Refer clients to other social services or assist clients in locating and utilizing community resources including legal, medical and financial assistance, housing, employment, transportation, day care and other services · Follow up and meet with clients to assess their progress, give support and discuss any difficulties or problems · Strengthen overall well-being and mental resilience and promote early intervention to identify and address mental health challenges at the onset, where necessary · Work in collaboration, maintain communication, prepare schedules and outreach duties with supervisor, colleagues and partners in order to ensure necessary support to all clients as required · Prepare promotional material and publicize events through flyers and social media for programs to have enhanced visibility within the community · Create partnerships with community stakeholders as appropriate · Organize registration of participants for group activities, prepare programs and promotional material, and publicize events · Plan and deliver high-quality group information and orientation sessions and community connections activities · Maintain program statistics by timely input of client details and service details into the OCMS database · May supervise placement students and volunteers · Other duties as assigned *Required Work Capacities:* · Physical demands: sittin- Location Toronto, ON
