Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Manufacture. Tasks: Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Start up, shut down, adjust and monitor robotic welding production line. Welding techniques: Resistance, spot or seam. Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Robotic equipment and systems. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Attention to detail. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Welding helmet.
