Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Install, arrange, remove and maintain telephone equipment, wiring and associated hardware
  • Repair or replace defective telephone equipment
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports
  • Determine nature, cause and location of trouble
  • Operate computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment
  • May work in a team with shared supervisory responsibilities
  • Serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team of professionals working with a client group
  • Sell products on a retail basis
  • Replace parts as required
  • Refer to schematic drawings or product manuals to repair parts
  • Logical approach for troubleshooting
  • Examine products for defects to ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Solicit sales and sell goods or services
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment
  • Provide customer service
  • Advertise and/or promote products, sales or services
  • Establish work priorities and ensure procedures are followed and deadlines are met
