Renovation. Historical restoration. Residential. Tasks: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Survey building locations and levels. Instruct apprentices. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Carpenter Trade Certification. Personal protective equipment (PPE) training. Carpenter Red Seal Certificate. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Tight deadlines. Work with minimal supervision. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles. Safety vest. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication.
