Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment. Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment. Repair cable signals. Test trunking systems . Install trunking systems, circuits and equipment. Determine nature, cause and location of trouble. Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures. Connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets. Determine work assignments. Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers and amplifiers. Repair or replace defective telephone equipment. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Repetitive tasks. Ability to distinguish between colours. Handling heavy loads. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
