Season: This is a seasonal part-time position ending October 31, 2026. The Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises operating season begins in April and ends in October. For candidates interested in summer 2027 employment, beginning in fall 2026 is a great first step and may qualify you for a returning-staff-member wage rate next year. Set yourself up for success starting this fall!Availability: All candidates will be considered; providing at least some guaranteed weekday, daytime availability is an asset for this role.As a Line Cook in the Galley or Kitchen, you will contribute to an outstanding guest experience at Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises by participating in the preparation of food on board for brunch, lunch, and dinner service.At Kingston Destination Group we are looking for candidates interested in joining a fast-paced, service-focused team in one of Ontario?s most unique and rewarding work environments: on board our sightseeing and dining cruises sailing from downtown Kingston. The Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises operating season begins in April and ends in October. Qualifications:Experience preparing food in a busy, efficient culinary setting.Experience working in a guest-focused environment. Positive attitude and approach.Strong verbal communication skills in English.Proficiency in other languages is an asset.Heavy lifting and other demanding physical work occasionally required.Safe Food Handlers Certificate required.Responsibilities:Prepare menu items under direction of the Chef.Follow guidelines for recipes and ensure company standards are met.Follow and execute needs outlined on the prep sheet.Assist with loading product to and from on-shore and on-board work sites.Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas in the on-shore kitchen and on-board galleys.Assist with daily cleaning responsibilities and completion of cleaning reports.Assist with daily prep sheets and count sheets for each vessel.Follow proper HACCP, FIFO, and other safe food handling procedures.Abide by Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) that outline hazardous chemical use.Additional tasks as needed to support the kitchen team and kitchen operations.About Kingston Destination Group:Kingston Destination Group is committed to hospitality excellence as the portal to inspired visitor experience in the Kingston 1000 Islands destination.
