The Opportunity We are currently seeking a Specialist, Data Developer (Microsoft) to join our Data Platforms & Foundation team within Information Technology (IT), based in Toronto, ON. This is a critical role focused on designing, building, and maintaining scalable data infrastructure and solutions that enable the collection, storage, and processing of large volumes of data across the organization. In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring that data is reliable, accessible, and optimized for analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives?supporting improved decision-making, operational efficiency, and business performance.You will report to the Manager, Data Platforms and Foundation and work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, architects, and business stakeholders. About You You are a highly skilled data professional with deep expertise in modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and advanced analytics solutions. You thrive in complex environments and excel at building scalable, reliable, and high-performance data pipelines and architectures.You bring a strong mix of technical depth and business acumen, with the ability to translate data requirements into impactful solutions. You are collaborative, detail-oriented, and passionate about leveraging data to drive innovation and business value.You are comfortable working with large data sets, emerging technologies, and cross-functional teams, while maintaining a strong focus on data quality, governance, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:In This Role, You WillData Pipeline DevelopmentDesign, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and distributing data across multiple systemsBuild and maintain ETL processes to prepare, cleanse, and transform data from diverse sources (databases, APIs, files, IoT, applications)Automate workflows to improve reliability and reduce manual interventionEnsure pipelines are fault-tolerant, performant, and aligned with data governance standardsData Architecture & InfrastructureConfigure and manage Azure-based data platforms and services for data processing and storageBuild and maintain data lakes, warehouses, semantic models, and analytics environmentsEnsure data solutions support both batch and real-time processing needsMonitor scalability, performance, and health system to support business growthBusiness Intelligence & AnalyticsDevelop and maintain end-to-end data solutions for reporting, dashboards, and advanced analyticsIntegrate data from multiple sources to support business decision-makingDeliver innovative solutions using modern analytics, AI, and visualization toolsCollaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver actionable insightsReporting & Data InsightsDevelop reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights into performance and operationsOptimize queries, models, and data structures to improve reporting performanceEnsure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting solutionsCommunicate insights clearly to both technical and n- Location Toronto, ON
