Hardscape / Mason ApprenticeJoin V.I.L. Landscaping We're looking for a hardworking *Hardscape / Mason Apprentice* who wants to learn the trade and build a real career in high-end landscape construction. You don't need to know everything coming in. You do need to be dependable, physically capable, willing to learn, and interested in becoming highly skilled. The goal isn't to stay an apprentice forever. We want to develop people who can eventually operate equipment, understand layouts and elevations, drive our trucks, and grow into leadership positions. Responsibilities * Assist with excavation, grading, and base preparation * Install interlock, natural stone, retaining walls, steps, and masonry products * Learn proper cutting, installation, compaction, and finishing techniques * Load and unload materials and equipment * Operate compactors, saws, hand tools, and small equipment * Learn to operate skid steers and excavators * Learn construction drawings, layouts, grades, and elevations * Maintain clean and organized trucks, trailers, tools, and job sites * Assist the Foreman with whatever is required to keep the project moving * Work safely and take care of company equipment What We're Looking For * Strong work ethic * Dependable and punctual * Comfortable performing physically demanding work * Willingness to work outdoors * Coachable and eager to learn * Construction, landscaping, masonry, or equipment experience is an asset * Valid driver's licence required * Clean and responsible driving habits Where This Role Can Go We want our apprentices to develop into well-rounded construction professionals who can: * Install hardscape and masonry properly * Operate equipment * Read drawings * Complete layouts and elevations * Pull trailers * Drive our F-550 * Train newer employees * Eventually become a Lead Hand or Foreman *Driving the F-550 is a privilege.* Anyone on our team should eventually be capable of doing it, but the responsibility is earned by demonstrating safety, accountability, and respect for the equipment.
