Job details
Education: Earned doctorate degree. Work setting: Community or retail pharmacy. Tasks: Advise customers on indications, contraindications, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage. Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or to other health care professionals. Advise customers on selection and use of non-prescription medication. Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients. Manage the storage, packaging and distribution of medicinal products . Develop information materials concerning the uses, properties and risks of particular drugs. Participate in research for the development of new drugs. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Experience: 5 years or more.
