*Title* Security Guard *Reports To* Security Supervisor/Security Manager *Summary* Security Guards are responsible for the overall security of all chips, monies and gaming equipment, as well as the safety of patrons, casino employees and volunteer workers. *Core Competencies* * Customer Service * Decision Making and Judgement * Safety Orientation * Communication * Team Work *Job Duties* * Ensures that all money and chips are safe guarded in accordance with policy. * Provide escorts to Organization Chip Runners completing chip fills and/or credits to tables. * Provide escorts whenever and wherever monies and chips are moved within the casino. * Provide escorts to patrons and (after dark) staff, from the casino to their vehicles. * Maintain security at the entrance while the Casino is open. * Completes written reports on all incidents. * Enforce AGLC Age Limit/Liquor Provisions, performing ID checks under 25. * Conduct preventative exterior patrols, enforces casino policies. * Provide prompt, courteous and friendly service to patrons and to fellow employee. * Execute assigned duties in a positive and professional manner in accordance with Casino Terms and Conditions, Operating Guidelines and established company policies.. * Control all Lost & Found items. * Provide coverage for Customer Service/Coat check when staff is on a break (checking coats, answering phones, paging patrons and employees, answering inquiries from patrons, etc.) * Perform other reasonable job duties as requested . *Requirements* * At least 18 years of age * Must be able to pass a criminal record check * AGLC Smart Training Program Certification within 30 days of hire * Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and co-workers. * Customer Inquiries, customer service, conflict resolution * Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching and prolonged periods of standing and/or walking * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Takes ownership of duties, shows initiative and is a proactive strategic thinker with a strong focus on goals, setting priorities and time management * Team player * Must be living in Grande Prairie Alberta. * Must be legal to work in Canada. * Available anytime, Any day *Work Conditions* * Stand, Sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. * Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. * Must be available to work all shifts including mornings, evenings, grave yards ,weekends and holidays * Must be able to work in a fast-paced working environment Job Type: Full-time Pay: $19.50 per hour Ability to commute/relocate: * Grande Prairie, AB T8V 7R2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Work Location: In person
