The Doornekamp Group of Companies are trusted, diversified partners delivering value through integrated expertise in construction, marine logistics, and real estate ? guided by disciplined execution, responsible growth, and enduring relationships. *About this Opportunity:* As a valued team member, you will work alongside your colleagues to bring civil, marine and commercial development plans to reality. You will directly report to your assigned project manager/supervisor who will instruct you on your daily tasks. Those tasks will primarily consist of rough carpentry and concrete-related work, including formwork, framing, concrete forming and preparation, site and building layout, and verification of construction in accordance with drawings and specifications. The position will require leadership with apprentices, labourers etc. to help develop their skills and ensure a safe, productive worksite. Job sites are primarily in the Kingston and surrounding areas. *Responsibilities, but not limited to:* * Read and interpret drawings. * Prepare layouts using measuring tools. * Measure, cut and assemble materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. * Build foundations, install floor beams, interior and exterior framing and roofing systems. * Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. * Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at construction sites * Carry, place and install rebar, dowels and rock anchors. * Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. * Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed. * Report any observed or potential hazards immediately to their supervisor. *Qualifications/Experience:* * High school diploma or GED. * Minimum of 2+ years experience in the field. * Valid G driver?s license. *Core Abilities:* * Ability to read labels, safety warnings and guidelines. * Ability to work in all weather conditions. * Punctual and reliable. * Ability to meet the physical demands of the job: standing for long periods of time; lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds; climb ladders, scaffolding and stairs; and work in rough terrain. * Effective communication and listening skills. * Ability to take and follow directions and instructions. * Ability to read and analyze construction drawings. * Good communication and organizational skills. * Good judgment, sound decision making, motivated and self-directed. * Professional work ethic, reliable, positive attitude. * Strong leadership and relationship building skills, driven by success and company betterment. *Expected Wage & Benefits:* Competitive salary.
