<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p>The Fleet Mechanic will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy-duty trucks, specialty equipment, and various other machinery including snow plows, salters, hydraulic attachments, loaders, and skid steers. Working both indoors in a workshop and outdoors on-site, this role demands a mechanic who is highly autonomous, capable of performing complex diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure fleet safety and operational efficiency.</p><p><b><strong>Responsibilities</strong></b></p><ul><li>Perform maintenance and repair work on heavy-duty trucks and specialty equipment</li><li>Conduct diagnostics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems</li><li>Execute preventive maintenance and parts replacement to avoid equipment downtime</li><li>Perform comprehensive safety inspections and equipment testing</li><li>Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and parts inventory</li><li>Manage tools and equipment required for repairs and maintenance</li><li>Conduct on-site and overnight repairs as needed, including during the winter during onsite winter breakdowns</li><li>Operate with high autonomy in decision-making and problem-solving</li></ul><p> </p><p><b><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></b></p><ul><li>5+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance</li><li>5+ years of experience in heavy duty truck maintenance</li><li>Technical certificate in automotive technology</li><li>Valid G license</li><li>Skilled in diesel engine repair and hydraulic systems</li><li>Proficient with diagnostic tools and electrical systems</li><li>Experience with welding and mechanical aptitude</li><li>Strong commitment to safety compliance and communication</li><li>Effective problem-solving skills</li></ul></div></div>- Location Pickering, ONL1X 0J7
