Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: General manufacturing. Tasks: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Machinist Trade Certification. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Callipers. Gauges. Verniers. Equipment and machinery experience: Engine lathes. Milling machines. Sawing machine. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Lathe. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods. Attention to detail. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
